File Extension Ptx

The file extension .ptx is used by a wide variety of programs, and each program has a different use for files with the extension. As such, .ptx errors are common, especially when users try to open the file with the wrong program, or delete it when they think that it is the type of file they can remove. Because a great variety of programs create files with the .ptx extension, it is important that users understand what sort of programs create .ptx files, so that they can look back on their computer use and history and determine what sort of .ptx file is there and what to do with it.

I really do love FileCure because it's so easy to use - you don't have to be some kind of computer guru to get just what you need!

Plug and play? Not even close. I spent a lot of time trying to get my new, so-called 'plug and play' scanner to work. I was about ready to take it back. ParetoLogic FileCure got it working and saved me a needless trip (and gas!!) back to the store.

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my printer wouldn't work, a friend of mine suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure a try. I figured it was worth a shot because I was going to have to pay for a geek anyway. I was so happy when it worked... and worked properly!

I figured the graphics card my grandson gave me was broken when I couldn't get it work on my computer. It turns out that I just didn't have the right driver. ParetoLogic FileCure got it workin.

Hello FileCure folks:

I can't thank you enough for this great product. I just bought a new Vista machine and had been having all kinds of problems. First it was my screen and once I got that fixed it was the printer . Finally, my son suggested I try your product. It worked great and continues to keep my computer working. Thanks you.

Reggie E., N. Dakota

I hate paying a lot of money for anything. That's why I buy mostly used computer equipment. Last week I thought I got taken when I bought a scanner. It just would not work. ParetoLogic Driver Cure got it working. With the updates, it makes sure my stuff will keep working and that I don't have to pay more money.

I work at a school so my mom thinks I am some kind of computer whiz. I have wasted so much time trying to get her stuff to work. Our IT guy suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure. It has been a godsend and has saved me a lot of wasted hours. My mom and I can't thank you enough.

My wife bought me a new Vista system, and ever since I have had problems with some of my hardware. I saw FileCure, and decided to give it a shot. Ever since, the Vista and my hardware have been working great. Thanks!

Nick Shultz, Canberra, Australia

I upgraded my system to Vista, and my printer started to act funny. No error messages, but it just wasn't working quite right. I read that drivers could sometimes be the problem. I looked online and saw FileCure. After downloading FileCure, my printer works great. You guys rock!

One of the big uses of the .ptx extension was in Nvidia's Compute Unified Device Architecture (also known as CUDA), a collection of software and firmware which was necessary to run Nvidia graphics cards. Although Nvidia has long since ceased using CUDA, many older graphics cards and their drivers are still in use and many of them use CUDA. Because CUDA (and the .ptx files it creates) are essential for the proper functioning of the graphics card, and CUDA related .ptx file cannot be deleted unless the graphics card is being removed or replaced. This particular sort of .ptx file is easy to identify since it will only be on computers with Nvidia graphics cards installed.

More Info Regarding File Extension Ptx

Another use of the .ptx extension is for files produced by Paint Shop Pro. In Paint Shop Pro, .ptx extensions are brush textures (the tx in .ptx stands for texture) many of which are pre-set, and some which are created by the user. Avid users of Paint Shop Pro will find that there are many .ptx files on their computer, and that Paint Shop Pro can open them. This form of .ptx file is also common on the internet. It can be deleted without any real damage to the computer, but it may be essential for some sorts of work in Paint Shop Pro.

Punch! Professional Home Design also uses .ptx for it's texture files. Users who find a .ptx file they believe is a texture file that can't open it with Paint Shop Pro should try Punch! Professional Home Design. The file can be deleted if Punch! is not installed or the corresponding texture is not needed.

The Pentax RAW Bitmap Graphic program also uses .ptx extensions on some of it's files. These files can only be opened by the appropriate Pentax software, however, they can be converted into more standard .bmp or .jpg files easily. They can be deleted if not wanted.

PrintTronix also uses .ptx for their bitmap files. However, it is rare that PrintTronix bitmap files will ever be encountered, since they have not been in use for some time. Users who suspect they have a PrintTronix bitmap file should first try opening the file with another sort of graphical software (such as Photoshop or MS Paint) or else deleting it, since PrintTronix no longer offers support or software for those files.

Pop!Site also uses .ptx files sometimes, however Pop!Site was never widely adapted and not widely used. A computer which currently or at one time had Pop!Site software installed on it may have .ptx errors because there is nothing which can open them, and unfortunately all that can be done is to delete the files.

The videogame Rayman 2 also used a .ptx file as an essential part of it's software. Deleting it will cause the game to cease proper function, as it is needed for many of the textures in the game. If the game has been uninstalled or is no longer wanted, then the .ptx file may be deleted without harm to the computer.

The last major use of the .ptx extension is for the RealLegal E-Transcript of Court Proceedings. These files are provided by RealLegal and serve as solid, digital records which cannot be modified or edited, so as to preserve their integrity. They may be deleted if they are no longer needed, however in most cases these files were not provided free of charge and should not be removed or touched unless truly not needed. The RealLegal software can open them, but they cannot be modified once created.
